As my baby gets older , I found that she wants to try feeding herself. She wants to eat foods that she could easily hold in her hand. Sometimes she will oppose my efforts to feed her because she really wants to do it herself. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have the coordination that is why I wouldn’t let her eat by herself yet. Since she can’t guide the spoon to her mouth on a consistent basis, I think it’s too soon to let her try to feed herself with a utensil. For now, I just keep giving her finger foods to help her develop the skills she needs so she can feed herself soon.
