My baby wasn’t a good eater when I first started breastfeeding her. When I took her to her 2-week check-up, she hadn’t gained much weight at all. My pediatrician suggested I talk with a lactation consultant. She explained that these people were available to help new mothers with the problems they might have when they started feeding their babies. She had a list of consultants that she gave me. Before I called anyone, I contacted my OB-GYN to see what he had to say about it. The nurse had me read the list I had and told me they were all good. I called one and made an appointment to visit with her. She gave me lots of information and advice and even let me borrow a couple of videos. It sure made a difference!
