Rediscovering Cloud Rat

A century ago, a rare rat specie was seen in the mountainous northern part of the Philippines. Then it was never seen for 112 years but now scientist again found the rare specie dead in a canopy of large trees whose branches were covered with moss, orchids, and ferns. The rat is small with reddish brown fur, having a black mask around its big dark eyes, small round ears,

broad and blunt snout, and with long tail covered with dark hair. The discovery of this rat proved that they just lived in high canopies with mature mossy forests. The animal has been preserved and will be shipped to Chicago for further studies.
