Hand-Me-Downs

Second hand, third hand… it was the trend in our family. Being the youngest of three children, I was always the last in line of hand-me-downs. Be it a dress, a jacket, or pants, or shoes, then I’d be the second or third to wear them. Even at when I went to school, my books were hand-me-downs from my two sisters too.

That was so many years ago and it has taught us valuable lessons. We learned make do with what we have. We learned to share everything with each other – from food, clothes, and money. We learned to love the essential things in life, to have charity for those more destitute than us.
